  • Baking soda and water: Take a pinch of baking soda and make a paste by adding some water. Don't use baking soda to clean sterling silver jewellery that contains stones like rubies, pearls or other precious delicate gems as it can cause damage.

·        White vinegar and baking soda: Add two tablespoon of baking soda to half a cup of vinegar. Let the tarnished piece sit in the solution for about two to three hours and then rinse and dry. This gentle cleaner will make your silver jewellery looking new by restoring the shine.

  • Baking soda, salt, aluminium foil and water: Line the dish or a bowl with aluminium foil, now bring 1-2 cups of water to boil and add one teaspoon baking soda and a pinch of salt in the water. Now pour this solution in the bowl lined with the foil and let the jewellery get soaked for 5-10 minutes. The solution should be enough to submerge the jewellery. It will reverse the chemical reaction that made your silver tarnish in the first place and this reaction will cause the tarnish or the silver sulphide atoms transfer from the jewellery to the aluminium. Now rinse the jewellery with clean water and dry. This method works best when you want to get rid of the toughest of tarnish.
